This 156-unit development marks our second successful collaboration with our repeat client, The Richman Group, in the Merced area.
Following the delivery of The Retreat Affordable Housing, Huff Construction led the construction of this expansive residential community. Previously known as Devonwood, River Canyon now provides high-quality affordable housing in Merced for local families and special-needs residents.
Scaling Affordable Housing in Merced
Delivering affordable housing in Merced at this scale requires high operational efficiency. As the general contractor, our team managed the ground-up construction of five 3-story residential buildings. Additionally, we constructed a central community center designed to serve the region for generations.
The project features modern interiors with elevated ceilings and wood plank vinyl flooring. Specifically, our team maintained rigorous quality control at every stage. We focused on everything from the initial foundations to the final interior finishes to ensure we met key milestones with precision.
Comprehensive Amenities & Resident Support
Beyond the living spaces, River Canyon fosters community connection. The site provides 117 units for families and 39 units for residents with special needs. Consequently, the project features a 1-story community building with a professional fitness center and a clubhouse.
Outdoor spaces include a resort-style swimming pool, a playground, a pet run, and EV charging stations. Furthermore, every element of the site was built for durability. This reflects our commitment to building spaces that improve the resident’s quality of life.
